Greetings and Happy St. Paddy’s Day from your favorite Irish Rogue Runner, Maura! While the masses gather in all of Manhattan, we will be in Central Park running an out and back relay to celebrate the day. The catch: all contestants must imbibe one alcoholic drink (beer/vodka shot/whiskey/cider) before pursuing to the next aid station.
The winner of this race can choose from the following prizes: a bottle of Irish Whiskey, a bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream, or a delightful package of Irish smoked salmon sponsored by Galway Bay Seafoods. Second place winner then chooses and third receives the remaining prize.
That said, who’s up for a different kind of Irish celebration? Cheers!
There are two aid stations: One at the start and one at 72nd street. All contestants must drink their alcoholic beverages before pursuing to the next aid station.
A total of three alcoholic beverages will be consumed (one at each aid station). The winner will be announced when the the first person finishes their third and final drink.
All contestants must be of legal drinking age.
